Minnesota Dads at Home

Online Discussion Group

MDAH currently utilizes Yahoo Groups and Facebook Groups to connect dads online. Topics center on raising children from a dad’s point of view. This is where dads can give or get advice on a wide variety of parenting topics. The discussion doesn’t stop there - other topics might include fix-it projects around the house, conversations on the latest successes or challenges with Minnesota sports, and/or to find out specific information on the next MDAH playgroup, DNO or MDAH news. You have to have your own personal account with Yahoo and/or FB to access this group. Sign up for MDAH Yahoo Groups and/or MDAH Facebook.

Playgroups get both Dad and kids out of the house to burn off some energy and make friends. Dads have a chance to interact with other dads who have similar experiences in their role as primary caregiver.  MDAH playgroups are held all year round in outdoor parks, community/rec centers and malls. We also have held playgroups and field trips at Minnehaha Falls, fire stations, members’ homes, Mill City Museum, the Children’s Museum, Minnesota Zoo and Como Zoo and more. There could be a playgroup very close to your neighborhood! To find specific information on current playgroups and field trips go to the MDAH Yahoo Groups calendar for an up to date listing. All are welcome to attend!

Dads Night Out (DNO)

This is a little grown up time for Dad to kick back with the other dads of MDAH.  Past events have taken dads to local establishments for food and drink; out to catch a movie, shoot pool or throw darts; bowl; go-carts and cheering for the T-Wolves, Saints and Twins. Everything is casual and we try to keep it as low cost as possible (Hey, we’re all on a budget).
