Daddy why is Minneapolis on the Mississippi? This question is answered at the Mill City Museum. Come check out the Mill City Museum to find out about amazing history, science, and cooking. The Mill City Museum, a new addition to the Minnesota Historical Society, fascinates children and adults alike. The water works room has a large interactive model of the famous Saint Anthony falls allowing children to understand the basics of levies, wiers, and dams. The models can accompany 20 or 30 children at a time and allows for great learning and fun. The kitchen gives classes and in depth info on all the types of wheat processed at the mill. Bread samples of many different types of wheat are available. Make sure to take a seated elevator tour which demonstrates the harsh working conditions of flour production 90 years ago. This Museum is also a must for any person who has never been to Minneapolis before. The cost is $11 for adults and free for kids 5 and under.
