MDAH Planning Committee

The stewardship of MDAH belongs to all members. We welcome your energy if you would like to help! There are many ways to lend a hand: welcome new Dads, lead a playgroup, plan a Dads event, contribute to the newsletter, maintain the database and member directory, spread the word, and so on. Let us know if you would like to help. If you aren’t sure how you could help, we can give you ideas!

Official Planning Committee meetings are open to all interested. Check the schedule below. Contact for more info.

Upcoming Planning Committee Meetings (2005):

Monday, September 19th, 7pm at St. Katherines in the Butler Center. For more information or directions, contact

The MDAH Planning Committee is an all-volunteer team of 5 dads who determine how MDAH can better serve its members through programs (Playgroups, DNO, etc.) and information (website, newsletter, etc.) as well as how to make more at-home dads aware of MDAH. Each dad serves on the committee for a 1 year renewable term and also helps lead one of the 3 MDAH Teams that create and deliver on the ideas generated by the Planning Committee. The Planning Committee meets for a couple hours every 2-3 months or as the need arises.

The MDAH Teams:

The Public Relations Team looks for ways to spread the word on MDAH and the at-home dad life. They create and distribute MDAH brochures to a variety of educational and medical establishments as well as maintain contacts with various media outlets regarding interesting at-home dad stories.

The Information Communication (InfoComm) Team manages the data side of MDAH. They manage the content on the website and the Yahoo group as well as the MDAH membership database. This team is looking for ways to share information and resources that will help us be better at-home dads. If you are a new dad they also welcome you and try to help put you in contact with a local dad running a playgroup in your area.

The Programs Team looks for opportunities for Dads and Kids to get together. They keep track of the various MDAH playgroups and set the schedule and locations for the monthly Dads Night Out. They also plan special events such as a Mom’s Night Out, Fantasy Football League, Camping adventures, etc.

If participating in any of these Teams interests you, please contact one of the PC members above for more information.
